Do you live out on your own or pay lots of bills? If so claim hardship. Say that with the loss of pay you will struggle to pay rent, bills, etc. You may have to get a note from your work saying they do not pay while out on jury duty.
It's tough with my work though. My work actually pays you up to two fulls weeks of pay if you get jury duty, lol.
If you were a woman and had a young kid there's two easy options. 1) If you are stay at home mom (could be the dad, too, I suppose ), so you have no available/affordable childcare during the day or 2) If the kid is real young, just say you are breastfeeding. Hehe. |
for the LA courts, financial hardship is HARD to prove. just because your missing work doesn't mean you can miss anymore. they changed a lot of their rules
