Sony MDR-7506 (about $95-$99 at most online stores)

i have the 700's currently, but the 7506's are my next purchase once i have some money. they sound a helluva lot better and they're super-comfortable; they don't irritate your ears and they're very light-weight. if you get a chance, check some of the headphone threads in the DJ Booth, many people swear by them.

the mdr-7506 are good and they do last rather long. i'd say they're comparable to the hd-280's. only different i'd say is the 7506' are slightly more bassy. a different type of sound. you won't really go wrong with either of them.

however, i will add that you probably shouldn't look at any other model of sony's. not worth it at all imo.

*edit:* im looking at the sennheiser hd280's, good price and given the reviews they sound pretty good too, should i be looking at something else a little more expensive (i was gonna spend about 150?)

Again I ask why dj headphones, I was just camparing hd280's to my hd650s and there is no comparison in sound quallity dj heads phones are for dj isolation not for sound quallity. Open ear headphones will have a better response range along with being much more comfortable.

I think something that's important to mention is that everyone's hearing may have slight variances to different frequencies. I personally prefer a slightly "tinny" headphone such as sony's while others prefer a little more bassy like the seinnheisers. You just have to try them out and see which ones sound good to your ears.

I use the V500 for djing. Honestly, not too bad, I just wish the bass came in a lot better then it does.
