Ugh. No no no no.
Nylon string guitars are classical guitars and are meant for certain classical and flamenco compositions. Ones which require alot of fast finger picking without a plectrum. Flamenco in particular is largely very difficult to play and requires alot of dexterity in your picking hand. The strings feel and sound totally different and are a much softer and less bell like.
Classical guitars typically have a wider fretboard which is also flatter making chords very difficult to play on them.
Electric guitars use lower gauge strings than either steel string acoustic or classical guitar. Lower string gauge means the diameter of the string is smaller - i.e. they are thinner. This means they cut into your fingers less and are easier to play but they sound different and less bell like. Low gauge strings tend to snap more easily. I dont like using 9 gauges on electric anymore because of the number of E strings I lose and I dislike the tinnyness of them. Besides I dont play alot of fast scales anyway so its not so important for me to use really low gauge strings.
Electric guitars have a thin curved fretboard making them easier to play but then again, you play an electric guitar differently to how you would play an acoustic guitar or a classical guitar.
Regardless of what guitar you play, your finger tips will get fucking destroyed in the first couple of months anyway. If they don't you are not playing enough. It doesnt matter as they will calous and become like the skin on your feet - hard and dead. After a long time playing you will not feel any pain whatsoever.
Dude, if you have 350 quid to spend I would go for a Fender Tele/Strat standard. Fairly inexpensive, good weighting and the sound is pretty good given the price, Its also better than any of those cutprice Epiphones/Squiers but if you are going to put this much money into it you better fucking practice alot and not give up. On the flipside, those guitars will hold their value better than Epiphones/Squiers or cheap knockoffs. Not the best guitars by far but great for the money. My dream guitar is a Gibson SG Standard because I love the weighting and the shape and the pickups but its very expensive.
