Are you kidding? Who said ANYTHING about racism????

I used to get just as pissed off at English players that wouldn't show sportsmanship.

Don't assume.

This thread is called Euro 2008, not Team England at Euro 2008.

And what do you mean by this? There are no racist connotations...just an expression of dislike for a particular player. It has no bearing on where he is from, just his attitude

I am like a mechanical toy, wind me up and watch me go.... Well, congratulations peeps, I am now officially pissed off.

I will truthfully admit to shouting obsceneties that could be construed as racist whilst watching football! For sure I will. But I will also admit to calling Gerrard a 'daft scouser' and Becks 'a big fat jessy' when they screw up.

The most heartbreaking thing of the last world cup was the blatant lack of sportsmanship, lead predominantly by the Portuguese and Italians. I am a proud fan and rest assured, any time my boys attempted a dive or called for something that just didn't happen, I was just as pissed off about that. This is an observation, seen by eyes the world over, not a racist comment.

I am first and foremost a Rugby fan. A game for thugs played by gentlemen and thus, I have a very strong sense of decency, sportsmanship and respect for the game and your opposition. I only wish more football players would realize this. I think it should start with the fans.

An English newspaper is campaigning for sportsmanship to be returned to the game with harsher penalties for falsifying fouls being backed up by electronic eye referees. One can only imagine what a different outcome WC2006 would have had if this was already in force.

lol. I remember that. It was the most bloody ridiculous argument. I can't believe they cried racism because someone called the other team a bunch of divers. People pulling out the racism card at every chance they get is getting almost as bad as racism itself.

Loconet, I couldn't agree more.

Notice I didn't say anything about the Holland pic? The Dutch always play a fair game and I think many a player could learn from Van Nistlerooy both in poise, skill and attitude.

Racism in soccer is a very real problem on and off the pitch. As is hooliganism, especially amongst the England fans. However, calling a cheating bastard a CHEATING, DIVING LITTLE PRICK is merely an observation.

That's it, that's all.

Girls don't know anything about the beautiful game??????

Boys don't know anything about girls....

Amazing how a discussion on racism (or not, as the case may be) can turn sexist.
