Usually songs break off with about 1:20-1:40 to go..
and intro start around in that time too

1.00 - 1.30 I guess, but that depends on a song's structure. Well I like to mix two songs in a middle between two main parts not just letting them to finish and then just mix, that's kind of boring I think.

I took the 1:00 - 1:30 part... Pretty easy to do this with Trance compared to other genres from some perspectives...

Longest, smooth (really) mix I've succeeded making is about 2:40- 3:00 mins.

I think the style you are playing is very important. If you play soft relaxed trance a long mixing length is great. But when you are playing hard and fast trance with a high BPM its better the have a shorter mixing length..

Yeh i agree with TranceFool, all depends on the style of the song being played

Well, I voted on 1.30+ too. And as everybody is saying: It depends what style you're spinning. I very often like to spin some nice deep prog and those mixes are quite long (but sometimes pretty frustrating, because of my crappy tt's). But they go very well most of the time. When i spin trance it's more like 1.00-1.30 and sometimes more.

1.00 - 1.30, sometimes a bit shorter.

It really depends on the record i'm playing, and what record i'm mixing into it.

My style is a bit melodic/uplifting, with sometimes a bit harder stuff tossed in.

As I said, it all depends on the records i'm playing.

I'm really in awe- how can you guys mix in records with almost 2 minutes of transition? I mean, besides the obvious difficulty of getting the 2 records to beat-match for these 2 minutes (which already will be a challenge IMO), you will have to start to beatmatch the second track straightaway after cue-ing in the first one, because the average length of a track is abour 5 to 6 minutes, and beatmatching to that sort of accuracy will normally take you 2 to 3 minutes. These quick calculations just means that you will be trying to beatmatch for the duration of your whole set. It's just insane! You'll go nuts!

listen ahi if all your mixing sounds like that it's aint good becaus you have to change from mix to mix so it wont the same all over the set.....

I dont always do it, sometimes i use the CDJ-100 Effects, or just put both tracks together with just the bass off.

You can correct your beatmatching in the middle of the mix. What I'm training myself to do is only spend about 30sec getting the beats matched, but holding 1min+ mixes by using the pitch slider to correct any slips in the beats.

That way, I can prepare myself for what I really want to do - Run acapellas and do mash ups on the fly, working 3-4 decks at a time.
