I'm sure it is. That's where stuff like trance was born. Even those big producers who wouldn't be known here would be treated like a DJ who was in the top 3

Oh and for those who could care less about eddies comments

Go back to your pointless threads and have a nice day

blah blah. This thread is just as pointless as every other thread. I swear, every edm forum i've been to I see someone post something like "the scene is dead" or "why can't it be like it used to". Well y'know what? We all need to wake up and smell the coffee. It WON'T be like it used to. It never will. You all sound like a bunch of ppl who still love elvis and are desperately awaiting his comeback. It aint happening.

The best way to use your energy is to push the envelope FORWARD..not backwards. Quit digging up these thoughts from 10 years ago and look ahead for the next 10 years. History is just that, history. Bitchin' about it doesn't do anything.

Maybe our scene needs to take a lesson from its forefathers of the past. Something has to change b/c if we keep going in this direction those cool underground parties we all love are going to be replaced by mega nothing clubs filled with no names spinning rap.

Good example is club love. Everyone has rave reviews of the place. It’s dark and has a good sound system. But no one goes for the most part b/c everyone is at the gymnasium club (C-bar) or the Pacha factory. And when I say everyone im talking about Hernan, Sander, Deep Dish, Ferry, and so on….. These big names are only seeing dollar signs and are not putting the effort into replenishing the scene. Please don’t tell me these guys can’t do 2 parties there a year. It would at least show some diversity and maybe attract a better crowd then what we have at the big clubs. I commend DT for doing this himself. He was a regular at Discoteqe before they closed there doors last fall.

the issue is thatalent is a rare commodity in
every profession and artists are not an exception
thus for a party to grow entrepreneurship and
imagination are paramount lastly i must add
there is a surplus of magnificentracks ready
for any true pioneer to have as a repertoire

Every genre of music has its day and moves on. Sure, disco was good in the 70's. Every club played it. Small clubs, large clubs, and everything in between. The "vibe" was probably pretty good too. Then it became mainstream and it ruined it all. In the 80's, people talked about bringing the "good times" back and created threads like this, although not on forums but probably on some bbs or partyline. But did disco come back? No.

I agree with you 100%

I hate when i see lil kids wearing thug rapper clothes and acting all black. You hear hip hop everywhere, and its getting worse. America is turning into HIP HOP America.

It is so widespread that everybody is starting to accept it.

I fucking hate it.

I agree with a few of your points, like EDM is much more exciting when experienced in a club as opposed to on the radio, and that its losing its mainsteam appeal because MTV caters to a mostly hip-hop playlist/promoting. If the suits dont want the masses to listen to it, i guess its popularity is bound to dwindle. As long as I can go out to clubs and enjoy EDM with others who actually enjoy it, i'll be happy.

all the top 40 is played repetitively , as in you can hear the same song on the radio 3 times with in the same hour on the same station......this brain washing which offers no alternative choices, which is brought on by producers and record companies paying off radio stations to play their music...if you remember the lawsuit vs bmg or whatever. the world is fucked but as long as you stay true to what you love it will survive
