Steve Helstrip (Thrillseekers) and James Holden both use Cubase.

People who say that Logic is the only way for anyone to make a pro track are just talking nonsense. Logic may be the only way that they can make good tracks, but that does not hold universally by any means.

Be careful of getting stuck in religious wars. If someone tells you, for example, that Logic is "where it's at", without giving any additional information, that's the red flag of religion.

People who have honestly given any objective consideration to the issue will tend to speak well of competing products (unless they're truly lousy, which certainly isn't the case here), and/or give specifics reasons to use one or the other, pros and cons of them.

There are professionals who use Reason. There are professionals who use Fruityloops. However you may feel about those, the important thing is that producers have very diverse choices and preferences, and a few vocal ones voicing platitudes about their preference being "best" does not equate to any kind of expert testimony.

good point there, and imagine you would probably spend about half a year getting to know the ins and outs of a new sequencer, why bother as they all do the same job. Unless you really dont like cubase that is

p.s. there still a good version of logic for PC kicking around ebay and such, think 5.5.1 was the last. Maybe easier on the pocket to try that

well logic definitely has more features than cubase. not just for e.d.m. i'm talking scoring music for orchestras, including video, list goes on and on. i've been using logic 7 for the last month and i've been thoroughly impressed with many of the new features, but if your just producing e.d.m., probably doesn't make too much of a difference between logic and cubase. i guess it all depends if you really need all these new plugins and features in your sequencer. cubase may not be as flexible in certain aspects, but you can pretty much do the same stuff in a different way.

I'm really looking forward to this:

Cubase 4

It's going to have more and better effects, VSTi's (looking very much like the logic ones.. ) etc.

I HOPE it's going to have re-arrangeable inserts, better group and effects routing..

Anyway, I sure am going to update as soon as it comes out

Some screenshots

Interesting ad, though it seems weird to publish such when no official information is yet available on the steinberg site. But somebody on the forum claims this was on a magazine.

ah.. i guess they are making it compete with logic 7. new version now includes video, notation, and lots of new plug-ins. i guess its either or now... lol.
