I just moved to Miami from Houston to attend UM and this was my first Miami trance event. I think Space is definitely a great club in terms of sound system and layout, but last night the crowd was messed up. I guess I don't really know how it is here at 18+ events, but in Houston, it's totally different. 18+ events aren't complete sausage fests like Space was last night, so that was pretty unfortunate. People also don't act like dumbasses like last night too. It'd definitely be cool to see a different crowd at a club, but as a freshman who doesn't always like having to use his id, I appreciate 18+ events.
As for Armin, he was a bit dissapointing. I've only seen him once before in Houston, and the way he played was totally different. Even though his set was really energetic, it wasn't very different from his ASOT stuff and sounded a bit rehearsed. Not to say that rehearsed is bad, but I would think that in a city as important as Miami, a DJ would be up for playing either new music, or maybe playing some more interesting stuff. In Houston, it seemed like he tried more to innovate and play stuff that not everyone knew.
I don't realy like house that much, but I thought seasunz was pretty good towards the end of his set. At least he, unlike Armin, played different, somewhat offbeat tracks.
I didn't stay for MS, but definitely wish I would have.
Anyway, hope to see some people next time.
Take it easy
