i dunno, looks wise i like the djm800 over the Ecler Nuo3 |
That's two of the dumbest reasons I've ever heard of for choosing a mixer.
You need to do some serious research, and get some hands-on play before you start buying equipment.
When you're ready, the gentlemen at www.agiprodj.com will be more than happy to cut you the best deal ever.
And, I don't know any DJs who want to be like Tiesto.

The DJM 800 is overkill, you will save a ton of money getting an Ecler Nuo 4. It might not be a truly digital mixer like DJM 800 is, but it still has decent sound quality and 4 channels and can also be used as a MIDI controller, like for Ableton. You'd be saving almost $1,000 getting an Ecler vs. a DJM 800. It's just way more than you will ever need... |
Well, more like $500. I would definitely prefer the DJM-800 to the Ecler Nuo4.
Conversely, I would much rather have the Ecler Nuo3 over the DJM-400.
You have to look at things on a case-by-case basis.
I totally disagree that the DJM-800 is overkill, though. If you have the cash to spend, it's a great mixer to learn on. It has a simple, easy to use layout. I just fear a beginner would screw around with effects rather than learn how to mix. There are valid reasons to buy the DJM-800. That Tiesto uses one, and that it looks pretty, are not. Find out for yourself.
If you want an industry standard mixer, then look at Allen & Heath's Xone line, and Rane.
And, listen to everybody. As much as you haggle at Guitar Center, you'll still get a cheaper price online. And you won't have to pay tax. Spirit5 got his MK2s for more than www.agiprodj.com used to charge, plus he had to pay tax. Shipping is free, as well.
