Is that supposed to be an insult? Don't judge me fanboy, I'm entitled to my opinion.

Honestly all that matters to me is whats coming out of the speakers. There are so many damn ways of making that music come out of the speakers these days, but in the end, that's what its all about. Of course I don't want a DJ to put a CD on and then leave the stage. But, within reason, they can look the other way, or talk to someone, or leave the stage briefly for all I care - as long as they keep the good music going! And the other thing, he is probably playing a generally similar set everywhere he goes - like other big DJ's do as well. So no, I don't think he was trying to read the crowd and determine from that what song to play. And that is almost a given. He is kind of beyond that, at this point.

All I have to say is;
Deep Dish Rocked the place. what an amazing set the threw last night, def the highlight of the night. They should've played from 7 till 11 imo

if u think that Deep Dish was a huge disappointment, then u obviously where there cuz of
Tie$to.

great pics, delobbo. this was an excellent time.. unfortunately me and d-res didn't get there until 6pm or so. damn chicago traffic. can't believe i missed junkie xl and blake's set

by far what made my night was meeting the rest of the mwta. nicest people i've ever met. glass, meejungee, delobbo, yuris, phreek.. it was great to see you guys. also tony, i dunno why but for some reason i kept calling you "scott?" sorry about that..

deep dish killed the place. they were definitely the highlight of the night. bad boy bill was also great, i'd never heard him spin before and i was definitely impressed.

seriously though, from a non-biased perspective, i thought tiesto was subpar at best. i don't agree with all the tiesto-haters out there, but his mixing was so-so. and (i'm assuming) they had to turn the speakers down in the mixing booth when he got on the decks because he was clipping a little bit. i figured he turned the gain up on the mixer right when he started his first tune to, i don't know, make it louder or something, but instead it just made the bass sound like shit. after that, the speakers didn't sound as well as they did earlier on. i dunno.

pics to come soon..

Deep Dish was awesome but what was up with playing "Party all the time" twice? Tiesto surprised me and turned out to be really good. It was a great night!

Good meeting you and D-res. And I apologize if I was being stupid. LOL. I have to agree about the sound of the nite... and its not the first time its happened, for big long events such as this. When we got there and Benny was on - the sound was SUPER-tight and refined. It got progressively less-refined.

But nothing is worse than Ultra at WMC 2003 - when Underworld basically blew the speakers with their low low blaring basslines and beats, and then PVD came on and his set sounded like CRAP. Too bad.

Well.....I had a great time this weekend up in Chicago. It was nice meeting a lot of you Chicago TA's for the first time. The festival was great. Of course my favorite moment was when Deep Dish played the Chasing Cars remix that Blake and I did. I did almost poop my pants. I enjoyed Tiesto's set a lot. Blake and I had the chance to meet him before this set and he was a really really cool guy. I dont care what anyone else says but he was really down to earth and a lot of fun to talk to for a few minutes. I am looking forward to my next trip up to Chicago....whenever that may be....
