by far what made my night was meeting the rest of the mwta. nicest people i've ever met. glass, meejungee, delobbo, yuris, phreek.. it was great to see you guys. also tony, i dunno why but for some reason i kept calling you "scott?" sorry about that..
deep dish killed the place. they were definitely the highlight of the night. bad boy bill was also great, i'd never heard him spin before and i was definitely impressed.
seriously though, from a non-biased perspective, i thought tiesto was subpar at best. i don't agree with all the tiesto-haters out there, but his mixing was so-so. and (i'm assuming) they had to turn the speakers down in the mixing booth when he got on the decks because he was clipping a little bit. i figured he turned the gain up on the mixer right when he started his first tune to, i don't know, make it louder or something, but instead it just made the bass sound like shit. after that, the speakers didn't sound as well as they did earlier on. i dunno.
pics to come soon.. |
Good meeting you and D-res. And I apologize if I was being stupid. LOL. I have to agree about the sound of the nite... and its not the first time its happened, for big long events such as this. When we got there and Benny was on - the sound was SUPER-tight and refined. It got progressively less-refined.
But nothing is worse than Ultra at WMC 2003 - when Underworld basically blew the speakers with their low low blaring basslines and beats, and then PVD came on and his set sounded like CRAP. Too bad.
