i think to have a year off could be a good experience if u use the time u'll get to do interesting things ....to work even if u have a job can be an experience ...to go travel abroad as well

maybe im wrong but it seems like in sweden after high school students usually take 1 year off to travel before to start university

it depends on people ...but if u dont feel like going to school now u shouldnt go unless the movitation comes later in years because if u dont feel like studying hard and passing your classes ...i dont think it will work ...i dont think being forced is the best way to achieve goals ....maybe u need some time !

good luck

hmm .
i'd say take one year off.
look around for jobs to find out what you really really want to do and can see yourself doing for the next 10 to 20 years, then head to coll.

or.

take one year off, move out of home, get a job, pay for your own shit.
then figure out if college is worth it or not.

it's not about being lazy ...i have so many examples around me of people who like me after high school went to university but most of them didnt have a clear plans of what to do and the motivation wasnt there...so they spent their time partying every nite and finally failed .....

most of them after 1 or 2 years like that managed to find what they really wanted to do ...what they were interested in and now it works perfectly for them !i guess 1 year off for them would have been better than going to uni because to see that u fail when the others pass isnt that great for the confidence

Yeah, a lot of people dont know what they want to do after high school but I think at least you should go to a junior college to start getting your general ed. classes. It doesnt matter what you major in, everyone has to take the basic math, english, science classes. And maybe after being around for a year or so and seeing what classes there are, you might figure out what you want to major in. And unless you are lucky and find a well paying job that doesnt require a college degree, going to college is something you have to do.

I think thats more constructive and viable than taking a year off from school. Oh and most people dont even go on to work in the field of their degree.

i've heard that college really pays off. BUT it depends on what kind of job you want. college isn't for everbody.

i asked somebody about this and they broke it down like this:

college degree: will get you an interview and the time of day
m.b.a: interview AND more likely to get the job.

i'm actually in my last year of college right now ad i wasn't sure if i was going to get an m.b.a, but i guess i will take that risk of getting it.

I took a year off from school after hs....and by the end of that year I was dying to be in class again.
But for others, they fall out of that "studying" mode and taking a year off can be detramental.

You have to be happy, not feel forced into doing something because that's what everyone wants you to do. You may be miserable in the end and it might show in your grades.

Go when you're ready.
