bare in mind the dxm09 was realsed a good couple of years after the dxm06 so therefore it is a slight improvement on it so although being in the same mixer family they do work slightly different.
hey, since you knew this, I'd like to aske how the DXM01USB compares to the 09. I'm mainly looking for sound quality at a decent price. No need for efx and the like. when was the 01 released compared to the 09?
Does the 01 have switchable inputs per channel (Line/Phono)?
and last one: how the heck can an all-digital fader start to "leak"?

No way they are true digital faders. Digital Faders are EXPENSIVE- some of the vestax battle mixers have dig cross faders and they are super xpensive two channel, 2 eq mixers.. very basic, but very high quality-

quote from the numark site on the 01usb:

_ 100% 24-bit digital design
_ >103dB S/N ratio
_ Noise-free digital controls
_ Numark D-Type crossfader
_ All-digital fader
ok, that reads as if the line faders were digital, and the x-fader something else...not sure though

Update: I returned the mixer. After 3 weeks, the fader started leaking HORRIBLY on the side I scratch on! So, I'm basically gonna just get the Mackie d.2 and be done with this crap

You cant have "digital faders" it just wont work. Digital either has to be a 1 or a 0, on or off. A fader will always be analog, it is also known as a slider potentiometer. Its just a variable resistor. you apply a voltage to one end, tie another end to 0v or ground, and the take a reference voltage from wherever the contacts are located. The mixers are digital, but the faders will always be analog, if they use the variable resistors/pontentiometers.

true, but aren't optical faders digital, even though they are still vca, the vca is being controlled by a digital device. alot of the non contact faders are like this.

You are absolutly correct, thats why I said variable resistors/potentiometers. Theres also magnetic faders.

...and that is why someone gets paid to design a digital cross fader that works...
BTW: I eat faders and cereal every morning to keep me strong.
I find P&G to be a healthy choice.
I had a dxm01 USB for a year and a half or two years. Not one single problem.
