Just tried it out and it works great. It it work on iPod as well, that's even better. Finally no more 2 second gaps between mixed tracks.

All I can find under the playback options in iTunes is the option to crossfade, with the minimum segment of time being set to 1 second.
Am I missing something? As it stands this new feature is more useless than the very small gap that we used to get, which although annoying, was infinitely better than the mini train wreck we're now exposed to on every track.
I hope someone points out to me that I've missed an important setting......

Yeah, you're missing something. Turn the crossfade off and it'll work perfectly smooth.

hey, comment about the "2 second gaps" on people's iPods. 1st, my ipod only had like 1/4-1/2 a second gaps (3rd generation 40 GB), and dont say, "you just dont have that much music on it", because it was completely full (as in I had to delete music to put more on) of just music.
How often do you guys defragment your iPod's harddrive?
Also, rockbox has been able to do this for a while and also, I hate iTunes, because I run on an older system I find it to be a massive RAM whore.

no reason to use iTunes at all. Theres plenty of other choices available for all platforms today.
I myself havent used iTunes one single time since i started using an iPod some 3 years ago..

My Winamp and Creative players have been gapless from day 1.
Going to give it a try, but I found the crossfade thing down to the smallest value in previous versions to be fine, can't imagine they have changed it much at all.

Buggy as, I know it's expected on first release but I'm having issues with processor usage, I mean mines not exactly the worst on the market but the smallest things seem to make songs twitch or jump, from loading up an application to somebody signing in on Msn
