I would definately not play those two songs back to back, but if the second song was a bit more of a banging trance song they would have gone together fine... that's something PvD would do.

Some of you guys were kinda harsh... yeah, I would never ever have posted that, and the mix wasn't any good (beats were a mile off and the actual transition was very short, therefore rushed) but its decent for only a month.

Try and remember your first month... I'm pretty sure you sounded something like that.

Even though the beats were off, I must say the way you placed the second track was very proper to my opinion.
Keep it up youll get it !

If I sucked this bad, I'd certainly want somebody to tell me ... hence the criticism. He wanted feedback and all he got was "yeah nice try ...". That kind of patronizing hurts more than it helps in the long run.

If you want to post little snippets of your mixing than make sure they sound *tight* ... as in "you can't tell where the mix happened" tight, otherwise it's just a waste of time for everybody.

And about the guy playing for only a month ... how does that make the mix any less bad ? If you are horrible behind the decks, suck it up and go practice some more, excuses won't help make you better.

Wow, I couldn't have agreed more. The transition wasn't very good, but at least he made the effort to post it up and subject himself to praises or criticisms that came his way, and I think that by itself is courage. That's what we're all here for; if it's good we say it's good, and if it's bad we say it's bad but we give constructive comments to spur him to do better.

I agree with everyone in saying you can do better.

For one the beat is not matched and the timing is off.

I would have a entered in with Someone right after the breakdown on the previous song on the 34th second on the sample track. Notice that the beat is steady at that point without vocals. That's where I would have came in.

Hope that helps.
