I think a lack of sleep is a decent enough exchange for a career as a DJ.

There are a lot of shittier jobs requiring frequent sleep deprivation.

I doubt they all fly business class. Thats alot of money for those flights. I would think that the time zones is what wrecks them the most. Travelling through times zones is a mind ******.

You're kidding right? You think DJs fly over the ocean in coach? Not hardly.

The "big names" maybe, but I know plenty of DJ's who play internationally that have to fly coach, because business class would undoubtedly put them in the red.

DJ's still need to make money, and not all of them are making as much as you think.

there is no way they all fly business class. I know that Space here in Miami pays 1-5k for headline DJs not named Tiesto, Armin or PVD. Business class tickets cost minmum $5000. If I was a DJ I would say fly me in coach and give me the extra money!

I agree with most of what you said, but business class tickets are not a minimum of $5000.

Don't just toss out numbers when you don't know what you're talking about.

I was talking about the guys who have been getting sick lately, like Tiesto, Sander, Desyn, etc. Yes, I will agree smaller DJs probably are not flying business all the time.

I looked at business class tickets from Miami to London for a vacation and the cheapest I found was $5,600. So I wasnt just throwing out a random number. Of course time of year, how full the flight is and how far in advance all play into the equation.

I've been on the same flights before as PvD, Judge Jules, Adam Sheridan and Sasha, and they've all been seated in the 'coach' section with the rest of us paupers. That doesn't mean to say that the more active DJ's don't still sleep on the road - you don't have to be in business class to sleep on a plane.

Throwing out a number based on a single case scenario isn't knowing what you're talking about though.

Amsterdam -> Chicago, direct flight business class in November 2 years ago for me was $2400. (I didn't pay for the ticket - Long airline drama story)

They can definitely differ significantly.
