It's exactly what happens to us in the UK, if you get caught customs charge you 17.5% (Value Added Tax) on top of what you paid (IIRC)...

From what I gather, rotary faders are supposed to be more exact. Generally intended for those who have longer mixes and want to control things down to the inth degree. They also tend to be a bit more expensive than mixers with linear faders. I'd like to try a rotary sometime.

Good luck Coffeee!

If you do choose the Vestax, you won't be disappointed... Felt rock solid when I played on it a few weeks ago in Madison

yes you do. all EU countries have if you order stuff from someplace outside EU. in finland it's 22%(VAT) + 10% customs charge on top of the new price. you don't get caught every time, but taking the risk might not really be worth it.

www.htfr.com sells the Vestax VMC004(-XL i think) for 189 GBP. since your from england, that might 1 of the best options to choose from. i found it in htfr's new catalogue from september-october 2006. they say its the lowest UK price ... hope this helps you

id go for that...generally you want to make sure your buying from authorized dealers (not necessarily vestax preferred dealers) in order to get a warranty JUST IN CASE although in terms of quality and durability id say vestax is up there with pioneer.

I'm in Canadia ffs. This concept not American at ALL, it exists EVERYWHERE. I am sure America wasn't even a country when Empires taxed imports and exports. Fucks sake, almost every country has duties and taxes for imported goods. Sure there are exceptions like "duty free's" or "tax free zones" but for the most party it exists in ever country. NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) is what I'm referring to when I say I wouldn't be charged duties on things coming from US/Mexico/Central America etc.
