1. Are there really any ethics in business? If there are, are there ethics for every type of business? New forms of business create new avenues of sales and services while creating their own problems. In my opinion, there are no ethics set up to contain internet business and advertising (pop-ups, trojans, forced advertisements) and even judicially nations and judicial systems struggle to deal with situations that would be illegal within the boundaries of a nation's borders. Challenging an online business for their ethics is challenging the entire ethical system for all online business because currently there is no real ethical system in place, no sense of honor and code (for what little exists within national judicial and ethical systems that barely contain real life non-internet businesses).
2. By continuing to discuss the issue in this thread, you're continuing to give them free marketing as this thread continuously gets bumped to the top.
3. They violated the rules of conduct for this website and were caught doing it by the administrators and justly dealt with in terms of those rules. What they do outside of this board, right or wrong, is up to them. How they are dealt with from place to place is strictly up to those in charge of those locations. Whining about it here won't solve anything to your pleasure except to perpetuate point #2.
4. I can appreciate what they are attempting to do to drum up support and attention for their website, and whether its negative or positive press, any free press is typically good press. If you want to bitch about companies that hire others to pump up their business through posting (or the owners themselves), bitch about everyone else that does it. There are some gaming companies that are notorious for this.
5. This post is not meant for debate, these are my opinions and I hope I won't be tempted to ever open this thread again.
