I think the mixes are a waste of time... the original's the pick of the litter. The track has a nagging quality to it that holds my attention. I've played it as a warm up during a bar set, transitioning thru into a more melodic proggy sound from minimal... works.
The first time i played it was in the middle of a hi-energy progressive set in Calcutta.. of all places. No one budged from the floor.... and oddly, a few people even began to dance more energetically and hypnotically...
Bear in mind that this was Jan '06... when almost no one in India was playing, or for that matter properly heard "minimal".
So what's the fuss about? I think it's about a fucking great track that's brilliantly produced to boot.

Nicely put.
People will always have differences of opinion, but I think it's reasonable to say that Rej is a special track that rises above the rest. It's groovy, spooky, deep, and beautiful all at once.

I still think it sounded best in your living room with Shane Tuhin, and Pearl around

It's Pearl's record... the first time she played at at Zanzibar on the beach... we all went completely nuts!
...and yeah, the living room's got better acoustics now that the decks are off the floor and the furniture's come in

I saw the record and was like, "YOU HAVE THIS ON VINYL!?"

I never cared for minimal. But then I heard this song. That bassline! I think the melody is very cool. And then I see the creators of this masterpiece say that minmal is garbage and that it will be dead soon, so I'm just a little confused.
I also would be interested in hearing some remixes. I heard one in a Satoshi Tomiie set that was amazing, it was like a violin or another string instrument was playing the melody.
