I dont really think its a luck issue. for instance, u get off on spadina from the gardiner and u stop at the lights. this homeless dude comes by ur car, and u give him whatever u can spare. now later on in ur life, something good happens to u(it could be minor of major). is it b/c u did that good deed or something else u did in the past, so to speak? |
Take this for example, you bump into a drunk person leaving a party grabbing for his keys, and instead of stopping him, and calling him a cab (since you dont know who he is, and is not your friend), you let him be. That drunk gets into a car accident, that ends up killing a family member, or close friend of yours. Is that karma or just cause and effect? Some would say bad luck, but in reality, there were choices made all night long that directly contributed to that certain situation to occur. Or some kid you picked on and tormented in the third grade, turns around to kill you 20 years later out of revenge for his childhood. Again, is this karma or really just something that was caused by an action?
I just dont believe in some fake magical essence that is created by the way you live your life. Im sure there are those who live great lives and barely hurt a soul, yet are hurt, killed in horrific ways, and then the people who recite tripe about "karma" will refute these instances with stuff like "God works in mysterious ways or God always has a plan BS". Like always, I see people looking for reasons to be a good person as opposed to just being a good person. And to be honest, a reward for being good is about as selfish a notion as being good is the only way your soul can be saved and have a place in Heaven. Silliness all of it.
