the only good american beers iv tasted were a couple from la, a brewry here in atlanta.....


and thats it. maybe its because the market is flooded with the shit beer :s

I tried this over the summer and it is quite nice. It tastes like a mix of beer and champagne. That makes it more of a "specialty" beer than a possible regular beer, if you know what I mean. It was definitely tasty though.

Aside from the beer, the story behind the recipe is very interesting. Apparently Dogfish Head bought the rites to the recipe, which was found in the 1950's in an archaelogical dig in Turkey that dates back a few thousand years. That might also give a hint at the taste before you try it... pretty sweet since it includes honey and such.
