Their might be some oakie that I don't like, but I do like most of it. Give the man some credit, he's experimented with a bunch of different styles. Some of its bound to be good, some of its bound to suck. But for the most part, its pretty damn good.

Hey and if Oakie lovers like it, thats cool with me. I respect peepo and their preference in music, but they swear bullet in the gun and piledriver are the greatest tracks to ever be dropped on a set of decks... which imo is pretty funny.

FIRSTLY this is a forum. We're supposed to be able to bring up debateable points and debate! If that means slagging certain DJs and producers off, so be it. Often, to emphasise a point, i'm sure certain things are exagerated. So be it.

SECONDLY i'm certain I couldn't DJ aswell as the deejays who are slated on this forum but let it be known that I wouldn't be paid the vast sums of money paid to these people for an hour or two of work.

Trance DJs should all be respected for 1. their devotion to the genre and 2. their desire to constantly improve themselves for the sake of music. I think they should all be accessed unbiasly.
I used to adore Oakie; I thought he was God. I still listen to his '99 Essential Mixes because they're THAT good. And I agree with most of you here in saying that he's gone downhill since then. But that's a very bad excuse for saying he sucks; people are not even giving him respect for his efforts! I thought Southern Son was amazing.
Same for Tiesto; people start to say that his mixing is crap recently and his new prog style is disgusting, but people forget to pay his respect for his efforts. I think some of his remixes are brilliant, but there have been some which I did not really like. Novertheless, I'll say to him "I don't really like this prog shit, but thanks for the effort".
See, the point is, they're all working so so hard for the love of the music that we ALL love (if not we won't be in here), so instead of isolating them when something goes wrong, we should admit that something did go wrong but hang on and anticipate a better mix or a better production from that same guy. If fortunes do change, then give him credit for that. I know some of you will say things like they're so highly paid they're expected to come up with great productions, remixes etc etc, but don't forget that at the end of the day they're musicians- not music-churning robots. Musicians are like mathematicians; you can only watch them from a distance and hope their eccentricities produce a stroke of genious one day.
