I have one. Identical layout and features as the 175 but with a Stanton name on it (pretty much the same company, that's why they're almost identical). I picked it up because it was cheaper and I was tight on cash. Has served me well thus far.

Its the same mixer without the xtra led and pgm isolators...

Feature wise it's not that much different other than what you've pointed out. But the queue vol. meter is a huge deal in reality. Any solid mixer has this (usually one for each channel, not just the queue).

I have rm3s and its a nice mixer for the price...The only difference I've noticed between the vestax and the stanton beside the features is the sound quality...The vestax sound quality is much betteer then the stantons...You can't really tell if you are using vinyl, but if you are using cds...forget about it...The mixer sounds horrible...But you can't tell unless you have a nice hi-fi and speakers...I'm not sayin the rm-3s is a bad mixer, it meets my needs...For the price you can't find another mixer with its features...

this is gonna be a tough decision.. I want high sound quality, cause i would also use it in my studio, and have synths running through it.. and I always have a CD on a line in.. .. is the no eq in the headphone really that bad for the 175? ah, why couldnt Vestax just add that feature to the 175!!!

Its not that bad.
You can do fine without it, but sometimes its bad not to have it...

And the PCV-275 is not an upgrade to the PCV-175, its an upgrade to the PMC-270A.

I wouldn't let the comment about the Vestax having better sound quality over Stanton worry you, I bet you'd be hard pressed to hear a difference at ALL. You will always find different opinions. Some people I'm sure would say they think the PCV-275 is comparable to a Pioneer DJMxxx in terms of sounds. Doesn't necessarily mean they are right, but it's just there opinion. I record everything I play using my Stanton (CD and Vinyl) and have zero complaints at all, sounds good to my ears.

Last of all, they're basically the same mixer, different name on it, with different colors/switches. Same guts! Compare it to cars, back in the day you had an Eagle Talon and a Mitsubishi Eclipse. Same damn car with differnet cosmetics. There are so many products out there like this.

Ugh, you can't tell with vinyl but you can with CD? Should be the opposite affect if there is going to be a difference in the two, considering vinyl has a higher fidelity than CD.

one thing I can tell you, I have a staton sk5 mixer (..thats why i need an upgrade ) and when I run my synth through it I can clearly hear the sound quality loss.. but with records I dont really notice, but then I have never heard a record (on my speakers) that didnt go through my sk5 first.. maybe I'm missing out, I dont know. Do you think there would be higher sound quality in the RM3, than it would in the SK5? I would hope so..
