Our galaxy is quite normal and quiet compared to many others ... some galaxies out there make ours looks so small - Galaxy M83, for example, has by some estimates up to 6 TRILLION stars ... and ours only has 200 billion.

Some stars are smaller than Sun, some others are giants, 10-15 times bigger than OUR SUN!

All galaxies have massive black holes at their centers. Imagine how powerful the black hole at our galaxy's center is to hold 200 billion stars ...

Ugh, yeah, I recommend reading some astronomy ... its amazing .... the universe is very beautiful, huge and full of amazing information ... I love the photos very much ...

The best way to start learning about our amazing world/universe is through internet, or by watching some episodes from Carl Sagan's Cosmos video series (available in DVD boxset), like I did. Breathtaking! The rest is history, you can find all kinds of great information in books, documentaries, shows that open your eyes to the amazing universe ... you'll realize how small and precious you really are ... how violent, huge and empty the universe is, filled with lethal gases, black holes, empty space / darkness ... and we are the only known planet to us, a very tiny little dot in the endless ocean of universe where intelligent life exists ... and we're destroying ourselves ... so much for our own intelligence, we use it for our own destruction. The knowledge is power ... open your mind to it!!! (I havent watched TV in years, I dont have cable tv = television decreases intelligence IMO). Sorry I am starting to get too blabby and personal here, ignore it.

Just expose yourself to the limitless ocean of knowledge, my friend ... its an amazing journey that will open your inner eye to the magnificence and wonders of our universe ... you'll feel like a king, you'll look at the world from a chess player's view!

^^^ im sooo with you on the idea that television decreases intelligence!!! its almost a brainwashing machine!!

definately agree with you on the fact that we are destroying where we live including ourselves through our "intelligence, knowledge and advancements". personally i think thats how the end of the world is going to come about...

and its definately scary to think of yourself as a little particle in the universe...make you feel so helpless lol

I thought that was still theory? They hadn't advanced the theory enough to say it's definative? I know they've seen a couple, or more accurately the effects of a couple.
