You know it's getting tough around here when you need to start posting disclaimers. Hehehehe. :P

a vibe from another city is when you are visiting this actual city...
imagine tomorrow then open a new club here and they say "vibe from Toronto in Montreal"
i go into that club and what do you find ? your friends, montrealers
the music ? same music as it is played anywhere on the planet.
you want an ibiza party ? go to ibiza... not the ibiza at beach club
new yorkers want to party montreal style ? they come here
I see this club as a plain simple new club.
stereo was built to replicate the vibe from paradise garage which was in NYC. You're probably right, BUT stereo CAME from NYC not montreal.

It means STEREO now has more pull and thus bigger names will be booked in Montreal because they can book multiple dates w/ DJ's...
what planet are you on man.
Stereo already has been consitently booking more big names then almost any other club in north america and on a regular basis.
You aren't gonna get any better than that.
and fyi...Paradise Garage was closed for years before Stereo opened. The concept of its sound was used, but that's about it.

Do you think the two are absolutely unrelated?

yes..they are.
there will only be 2 afterhours soon...(even if biggy insists that isnt true)Stereo smells blood in the water and is going for the bigger chunk of the pie. With all the normal hour clubs doing big business, its time to eliminate the competition and solidify its market in this city. When Sona was struggling, Aria and Stereo did the same thing...its basic repetition of history.

you can't be serious...
Avalon LA, Circus, Spundea, Avalon Boston, Crobar, EVEN Guvernment...
These venues have international DJ's every weekend...
Please don't try to convince me that STEREO is booking more names than almost any other club in North America.
STEREO is booking big names in Montreal... but it's still nothing compared to the rest of North America...
STEREO is expanding it's pull in the market which gives them the ability to book multiple dates and GREATLY increases the chance of us seeing even better DJ'S! I'm not saying they aren't bringing in great talent now, they are, I'm just saying that it'll mean even BIGGER names for STEREO in Montreal, Sonic in T.O and STEREO in NYC.
You feel me?

they are booking the biggest names that cater to their clientele.
and are easily in the top 10 in north america.
sure they have deviated from their game plan and traditional bookings a bit lately...but do you ever see a weekend without a headliner lately?Just because it doesn't correspond to your taste does not make who they book any less impressive. You will never see sven at stereo marc....i seriously doubt you will ever see him in Montreal again. Why?It is a stupid move financially as far as a booking goes unless he is touring. And he isn't touring so...sorry to bust your bubble.P.s there are only 2 nights in a weekend and 3 clubs...you going to say they will fly to the next city and play? That would ruin the stereo tradition of keeping the party going as long as the party is still going(another reason why its the best after in this town.)As far as i know you haven't even been to Stereo yet...so all of a sudden you are an expert?
look...i think its great they want to do this...just use another name.It just cheapens it as the life expectancy of a club in nyc is not long.If the nyc club closes, would it not tarnish the stereo name a bit?Call it Audiofuckboomboom room for all i care...just not Stereo.
Either way its not my call only my opinion man.
I say this because i truly love Stereo and would hate to see this lower it.
the fact that you mention avalon boston cements the fact you know not what you are talking about.Look at their line ups....i also am pretty sure you haven't been.I have...its not that impressive its only a name.
