I've been meaning to post the details but after moving house all my studio gear is still boxed up.

You definitely need the 2 filters though and more than likely a 3rd if you want it to sound really good. Otherwise you don't get the vowel sound.

I managed to come really close with the vanguard. I can post a sample later when i get home.

I did it with two comb.square Oscīs and one Noise. But the i tried to recreate it on the v-station, but i dont htink it can be done!

some people really should read the thread b4 replying!

was thinking about ur soundset and thought it would be good to make some of the sounds that play in the background of tracks, the ones that fill the gaps....

most soundsets are made up of main lead sounds, pads basses and fx's

just an idea, if a top synth programmer made a full bank of them kind of sounds id say it would sell very well....

I dont think you are getting the point here. Read the post again!

I get the point. I'm saying that the point is insufficient. Soundset or no soundset, this is making complicated a very simple process, and that is just... dumb. I'm sorry if my opinion offends you, but I can't think anything else of this than that it's an exercise in futility.

I guess the pragmatic mindset makes no sense to the daydreamer.

No no, i wasnt offended! I know what you mean, and know that its almost impossible to get that real "Ahh" sound with synthes. But i wanted something that could sound close to it!

But i have realized now that it cant be done!

I think sample sets would really be the way to go if you want that semi-authentic, plastic "ahh" sound.

I don't have the $$ to spend at the moment on Spetrasonics Atmospheres, or other sample-based libraries, so I'm stuck with a few gimicky soundfonts and samples.

It can be done on a subtractive VA but you need a few things. 3 filters for one. I still maintain you can do it roughly with just 2 filters though. Tonight I'll hook up my Virus, get the patch details and try to record a sample but I have no monitors or speakers again (oh Digital Village, when will you stop delivering me broken products? )
