Agreed, though I don't like the mix of Solvent - Think Like Us as much as others I've heard.

The scientist cannot capture the whole cosmos in thought. In his mind he makes a kind of microcosm, which we see as an analogue of the cosmos. In this way we try to get a feeling for the whole. The artist, I suppose, gets a feeling for the whole some other way.”

Can any Vancouver residents vouch for what influence, if any, Mathew Jonson and Wagon Repair have on the local scene?

Hey bro, not sure about Vancouver. But, from Canada I would recommend Jesse Somfay.

Probably none, and if it did, probably very small and only impacted a very introverted scene. I doubt Van City was throwin its hands in the air for his stuff... Van isn't a minimal city I don't believe.

As far as I know, Jonson has a pretty decent following up there, but I've never experienced it for myself so I wouldn't know for sure.

Friends from Kamloops (I think that's how you spell it... ) have definitely mentioned him before...

Yeah, if you know anything about electronic music you might know him- but for the most part - I wouldnt say his reach extends beyond that. I suppose the same is true for most locals though...

Yeah, the OP's question was about local influence, so I figured all he wanted was to know his influence/presence at that level
