tell me about it.

I was there 2 weeks ago for afterhours when "Sugar Ant Invasion" came to town. All I have to say is that it isn't same old Shelter.

EDIT: although its an option now between going to Gypsy Tea.

it was getting too shadily-run.... the venue itself was Speeed, host to hiphop/reggaeton parties on Fridays and downstairs on Saturdays, and i guess they just wanted to get their soulful deep house party away from that venue, to something better, away from that clash of vibes, so to speak.... it was also starting to fall apart, sound system was iffy at times depending on the night, equipment was being messed up by the hip hop parties (until the Shelter crew decided to bring THEIR own equipment sometimes, leaving half the equipment wrack empty for other parties to freak out about when they rented the space, not knowing that)....

these arent the 100% reasons, this is just the way i see it and have heard from several people that were close to tthe owners (not to mention i was there a few times, and every week, there was a line of the hoodiest hoodrats waiting for the hip hop party)... im sure theres more to it, but i dont know the whole deal
