Wasn't that the case of many citizens prior to the war begining. Appart from those within the govt I mean.

Think it was about 65-70% in favour when it first started, after there was no WMD found it began dropping and most Australians at least do not seem to hold politicians or political party's up on any kind of 'faultless' pedastal. One of the things I like about the place.

What does distance have to do with anything?

I shall concede the "invading" point for the only way to argue that is politics and that is not what I was getting at. But you still have to show how any of the actions taken by the military and it forces there can be considered drastic when measured against the scale of history.

Ok.... so at what point was any of the action of WW2 considered drastic?

EDIT:
The reason I asked how far away it was is because the invasision of a nation thousaands of miles away from you is well, in my view, pretty drastic!!!
