well if it's a CDMA phone, which it is.. someone (likely the previous owner) may have gotten the ESN # blocked, especially if it was lost/stolen and then resold. An ESN # is like a VIN # for your car. Each phone has one that uniquely identifies it from another. If you're on a provider like Telus or Bell that uses a CDMA network, when a phone changes owners, the provider reassigns the phone number to the ESN # of that phone. you'd hafta find someone or someplace that can reprogram the ESN # on the phone so that you can use it again. I'm not too certain how exactly this is done, but it sounds like that's your problem.
