BPitch Control's Paul Kalkbrenner will play two dates in Canada in support of his remix album 'Reworks'. Original dates scheduled for the US have been cancelled due to illness.
Paul Kalkbrenner is one of Bpitch Control's longest serving artists. Inspired by early nineties trance, Kalkbrenner is the label's go-to-man for ravey techno with trancey synths, as heard on the longplayer 'Self' and last year's 'Gebrunn Gebrunn' which found favour with everyone from Sasha to Sven Vath.
This month Kalkbrenner plays in Canada to promote his remix album 'Reworks' which came together after he invited a few producer pals to remix some of his past releases. And when your friends are Michael Mayer, Joris Voorn and Agoria, why not?
The album includes a remix of 'Press On' by Dutch techno producer Joris Voorn. In a recent RA interview, Voorn explained how he approached the remix:
"I really enjoyed making it because I think the original was already a really really beautiful track. Basically I took some elements from another track by Paul that really fit in with ‘Press On’ and I made the remix. It’s like a trip. It’s only at the end that the strings from the original come in."
