love mashups, but none of these crappy ones armin pulls out of his in abelton or whatever. more fun of what producers like gordyboy, divide & kreate, dj bc, lenlow, team9, dunproofin, eve massacre, prosac, aggro1, alex c, and even more proffesional ones like Erol Alkan aka Kurtis Rush, Osymoso, GHP are doing.
Meaning not just whacking a vocal onto an instrumental, A+B bootlegs are fun, when done right, but it's more fun you take a track that isn't instrumental from the beginning, reconstructing it by looping and other various tools and then maybe whacking in some loops & grooves from other tracks. and taking vocal parts from tracks that doesn't have an acapella ready.
some of mi favs atm.
team9 - paul & heather (Beatles 'Love me do' / Beatles 'Paperback Writer' / Ludacris 'Move Bitch' / Missy Elliot 'Shes a Bitch' / Kanye West 'Gold Digger')
lobsterdust - bring my own bell (System Of A Down - BYOB / Anita Ward - Ring My Bell)
Earlybird - get it on with a tweaked heart of glass (Blondie: Heart of glass / T-Rex: Get it on / Prince: Get off / Queen, we will rock you / Donna Summer: I feel love)
Gordyboy - Only Happy When The Rain Comes (Simple Minds - Theme From Great Cities / Garbage - I'm Only Happy When It Rains / Brainbug - Rain / Eurythmics - Her Comes The Rain)
Earworm - Since You Been Gahan (Kelly Clarkson - Since you been gone / Depeche Mode - Photografic (rex the dog dubb))
DJ Tripp - Rocketfella shack (B-52's Love Shack / Felix Da Housecat - Rocket Ride / Fatboy Slim - Rockafella Skank)
Mad Martigan - Always Love The Funky Mushroom (junkie xl "mushroom" / nada surf "always love" / afrika bambaataa "funky heroes")
GHP - Ray Of Gob (Madonna - Ray Of Light / Sex Pistols - Pretty Vacant / Sex Pistols - God Save The Queen)
But then again, Tim Deluxe's mashup of his remix of Love Story & K.O.T.'s Finally is still banging.
