Dude, just don't take the bullshit from the garage. Make sure you get a good deal, and if you know you're not, lay down the rules, and you will!

Or dress up as a priest, like in that movie with owen wilson, but he was acting as a real priest.

I think what he is saying is that a hose pick will probably your only issue when disassembling your front end. most of the bumper should be push pins or plastic screws which are easy to take out, you just need to make sure you get ALL of them. Once you take off the bumper and the grill, the head light housing nuts should be clear, just take them off.

The reason why the airbag needs to be disconnected is because of the crumple zone in the bumper brace, it should be just a sensor with a clip connected to the housing, just pull the housing out and d/c the sensor.

You can probably just get this done at home, think your price quote is a bit outrageous and you are getting your balls squeezed.

for disconnecting sensors/fasteners i have a tiny pocket screw driver (flat head), and a pocket LED flashlight. Little things like that make your life easier when it comes down to it.

A radiator should be a cake job.

He could've had the money available to him, if he didn't turn into such pansy, by turning down those DJing gigs, at the gay clubs he was blabbing about, not so long ago...

Jesus Chris guys, that was ages ago, and it has nothing to do with that, it does however have everything to do with a dealer using expensive parts and trying to charge me up the yan-yan with their labor costs. I'll try doing it myself if possible, we'll see what happens.

You should get quotes, from other repair shops, before you decide to get brave.

there are plenty of manuals out there too to see what all needs to be done specifically for that car.

try cavi forums too. they should be good for something finally.

Every auto parts store has either Chilton or Haynes auto repair manuals. Best of all, they're both model specific. However, Chilton is better known to have the correct specifications, versus Haynes.

thats half truth. neither are fully correct as they are NOT specific enough when it comes to narrowing model years down. its too broad and vague at times also.

Personally, I'd rather get a manual from the dealership. For example, the CD-ROM manual for my car (made by Bentley) costs $95.99, for a reason...

1. It's a German car.
2. It includes everything I need to know about the car, with hyperaccurate specs.
3. Detailed diagrams of procedures, with specs and tools needed.
4. Perfect for the do-it-yourselfer.
