I think if people keep friggin with shit going to clubs will be a virtual reality thing while we sit at home scratching ourselves in bed. Its bad enough vinyl is a thing of the past...everything was going fine for decades, now all these up and comers are introducing this new technology that really isn't needed.

Yet it makes listening to DJ sets faaaaar more entertaining than "Track 1 --> Track 2 --> Track 3 --> etc.".

I don't need entertaining if its a good set. That's the problem, DJs now a days spin shit sets and compensate with visuals and effects. They need to go back to the record shops select better tunes, work on their mixing, put away the laptops and get back to basics and maybe things will get back to the way they were - amazing.

I will agree with you on the selecting better tunes aspect of it all. However, it's very possible to have an amazing track selection, spot-on mixing and still be able to one-up both of those abilities by adding effects and remixing/editing on the fly. It's just incredibly hard to find a DJ capable of that at the present time.

You are too late
The chair ravers have arrived!

bwahahahahha!

but really, its gotta be better than having the dude click on a mouse and sit behind his screen looking like he's checking his email, you think? I dunno, i hear people complain about how computer music people dont look as cool as turntable people, it doesnt surprise me that they would try to do a more charismatic interface.
