I suggested from my first post that perhaps there was some context missing due more to the brevity of the video, but the words were what they were. Poor Mr. Horseface has a severe and ongoing case of foot-in-mouth disease.

A poorly executed joke? Sure, I can buy that because there's nothing remotely funny about the guy--he has no sense of humor. But seriously, I'd be much more willing to overlook his insulting comment if he came out and said, "yeah, that was a poor choice of words and I can see how it might've been taken offensively. I am sorry. I apologize for being a douchebag."

Instead we get him on the defensive trying to rationalize what he said as an attack on the Bush administration when it was quite obviously more offensive to anyone who wears a uniform. Did you know that of our standing military of over 700,000 only some what, 150,000 or so are in Iraq? What does that say about the rest of 'em? Are the retards as well? For fuck's sake, just apologize and get over it, don't try to rationalize something stupid that you just said.

Maybe if you could convince me he was drunk off his ass I would be less offended. But again--when Kerry says things like that, is it really that big a surprise that so many in the military can't stand the guy?

*sigh*

Alright, I can only carry Kerry's water so far. There's a reason why the guy isn't in the Oval Office - partly because of how effective the Right Wingnutters Noise Machine can pick something up and propagate it out so damn quickly and readily. The other part, of course, is Kerry does have a foot-in mouth disease at times. Granted, if Kerry has this disease then Bush would probably be terminally ill of his own disease by now. The '04 debates were a testament to who was the better speaker, IMO. However, it appears Q's predictions are coming true regardless:

And he did just recently apologize, BTW:

http://thinkprogress.org/2006/11/01...snbc-apologize/

Again, a stupid joke that blew-up is one thing. Stating that he is somehow against the troops and that his intentions were to insult them rather than point his joke at Bush's Iraqi failures is something else that is wholly another fallacious story.

Likely due to the fact that his handlers told him he'd better do it after his reluctance to back down yesterday and the ensuing political craziness that followed.

quote:
A few Democratic candidates joined Republicans Wednesday in pressing John Kerry to apologize for a comment critics said appeared disrespectful of U.S. troops as several Kerry campaign appearances were canceled.

"Whatever the intent, Senator Kerry was wrong to say what he said," said Democratic Rep. Harold Ford Jr., running for Senate in Tennessee.

"Sen. Kerry's remarks were poorly worded and just plain stupid," said Montana Senate President Jon Tester, a Democrat trying to unseat GOP Sen. Conrad Burns. "He owes our troops and their families an apology."

"I'm sorry he did what he did. But I think the issue ... we want to make sure it doesn't confuse the subject of the war in Iraq," Democratic Rep. Ben Cardin, running for Senate in Maryland, said on CNN.

Nevertheless, at least he finally apologized (as you said), regardless of how sincere it may have been given the backlash, so I'm ready to move on now. However, I still think he's a pompous fuckbag.

This is our beautiful election process at work. Scandalous rich and lacking real substance. I acknowledge it hits both ways but I won't miss a chance to jump on Kerry when I think he deserves it.

In case anyone is curious, here is the demographic makeup of our military recruits. They sport a better high-school graduation rate than the general population among other positive attributes.

Let's move on.

John Kerry will never be president after that. This is a great counter-balance to the Foley scandel.

Don't you notice how when one scandal its one party, a little time later, another scandal rocks the other party? Especially during an election.
