If so the likleyhood is he won't reply, most booking agents wouldn't.

You need a proper e-mail address (like a business e-mail or one which would look professional) to be taken at least seriously, their not going to just give out mauro's fee to anyone, and they wouldn't expect promoters who have booked him to give it out either.

Nah

Email address has nothing to do with it

You have to present yourself as a professional, we get lots of requests from kids who think they are gonna book shows.

People like that always end up flaking when it comes to the deposit, as Im sure the poster of the thread will too once he realizes he actually has to put up money to confirm his show.

Nowadays we choose to ingore anyone without a track record

What better way to appear professional when contacting someone by e-mail, than an e-mail address specific to you business or club night

Not sure if he was talking a lot of bullshit, but isn't it like that?

simon raines is the owner of gatecrasher and he was probably talking bullshit he is the biggest fag your ever likely to meet. he probably just sits on his arse all day he employs people to book djs

I'm sure it's all very subjective, but I'd guess that each of the "bigger DJ's" out there has his or her bottom line.

Neil Moffit, President of Godskitchen, although maybe he's not the head anymore, as he was building up ICE in Las Vegas for the show he was talking about.

Not really. I can't imagine Sasha could charge that much when I saw him @ Cielo in March, as the club only holds 350, I think, and tickets were only $20. Even if he took everything, that's only $7000. I'm sure he gets more for big clubs like Crobar NYC. I had heard it rumored that when he played Avalon NYC in 2003 for New Year's, he got $125K

I wasn't implying it was some small range, I said it was all subjective, but there has to be a point where even Sasha says "no way."

Even if the bottom line changes for each show, it's gotta be there.

There is no 'set' fee guys... It depends on who you are, the night of the show, the city its in, wether or not its a tour... sooo many factors.

And no, you can't just pick up a phone, or write an email to book a dj.

Ask yourself this: would Mauro Picotto deem it worth his time to play at your event over all the other possible events he could be booked for on the specific date?
