Bobby FTW! More detailed review to come in the near future...

Rubin, excellent avatar, I think Pete's actually more drunk than Yuris' Blake avatar.

Thanks for listening and the comments

One time while opening up Mi Piace lounge I was playing all kinds of deep stuff like Funk D'Void - Home...and I ended up in some timewriter track. The owner told Tigo "This guy's been playing the same track for 20 minutes" Tigo replied "That means he's doing his job"

I have not listened to this yet bawbert...waiting for the right time.

yes I feel the same way. If you can play for 20-30 minutes - let alone 60 - and it sounds like one song - that means you are playing seamlessly. That is hard to do. You are matching key as well as tempo - you are matching styles, basslines, synths, etc. Consistently throughout the set. But the possibly negative side is, people can say there is not enough variation, and, ultimately, that it is boring. That is precisely what I was alluding to when I said it could be either good or bad.

The whole idea going into this one was kind of to make all the individual parts play their role in the whole. The set itself was supposed to loosely emulate a track playing out (granted that is not some groundbreaking concept in set structure, but I really put a lot of effort into picking just the right tracks for such a purpose) - the first few tracks were sort of the intro / build, into phuture bound / where we at as kind of the first peak, slowed down abit again and then back up w/roots 4 acid and zoo brazil with the ambient finish. after listening through it fully a few times i thought exactly what you articulated in this post. It fully depends on the listener's personal preference as to whether or not 'too much of the same thing' gets repetitive or if it works as a whole.

Personally, I like sets that have interconnected ups and downs, which make sense, like this one.

REally good stuff man. Mint track selection and programming as always. It's definitely very different from what i've been listening to lately, but i really enjoyed it.

And thanks again for including Origami, fit perfectly imo

btw, been loving that john tejada remix. delish

Finally I have a chance to get a hold of this mix. I've been waiting to get my hands on yours and robs mixes for a few days now. I can tell already, without having heard your mix that i'll like it considering the first track has sat in my beatport crate for a little over a month, waiting on my poor ass to buy it.

and now for bobbert to have sex in my ear.

classy well-built house.
a little drop in energy from track 1 to 2 and i don't know if this will pick up but i felt like it slowed down for me. has an almost minimal feel to it.
i think you should've introed with this song, it has that beginning feel to it, i have no idea why. yeah just my opinion...
i really liked this mix and i really LOVE this third track, really hot, finally getting somewhere.
my argument for this stretch so far is that you really let the tracks run, which personally i do towards the middle of the set. at the beginning i like to "offer more flavor" instead of "drown in the taste of". but that's neither here nor there, it is YOUR set.
this track was needed for me, i was being impatient but this pulled my attention back to the music.
ok now i'm thinking track 2 should've been left out, 1 to 3 is how i would've dug it. but fuck track 3 is great!
now we're definitely getting somewhere, perfect transition and a great track to follow, energy starts to build around 24 mins.
perfect run right here, great build in energy and sound. music is getting a little bit harder too, i think it's just due to the vocals in this track, but the synth is harder too. whatever this apocalypse track is it's making me think some shit is about to go down for the 2nd half of the set.
and of course he proceeds to fuck me in the ear... is nice! i am loving the second half right now, has a great deep/prog house feel to it, currently loving the song with the strings in it around the 42 min mark.

bah ambient... do what you gotta do.

i am a big fan of the second half of this set... maybe even the last track fits, it's definitely different to finish it off on a "different note" if you will.

but bobby the set was tits. you were kinda toying with it at the beginning, but i think when you figured out where you wanted to go with it, which my guess is around 24 mins you went on a tear and i wish you would've kept going but you had to end it so i understand the need for the last track, which in my opinion wasn't needed, could've just killed it off on a high note and followed your progression.

i think in promo mixes, since you only get an hour, there's no need to "finish" so to speak, leave it on a cliff-hanger so that we almost see what direction you're heading in.

is nice! i like! high five!

Thanks a lot for the listen and lengthy review - I'm happy that you were pleased overall with the set.

It's especially helpful with commentary like yours to help further refine how I develop my mixes / music selection so I really appreciate it.
