I think it's only fair to acknowledge that there is likely tomfoolery on both sides, though I've never in my life personally dealt with any sort of harassment or voter fraud when I've voted. I heard about this on the way home today. Supposedly this guy refused to let a GOP election observer in or something to that effect. I'm glad he knows how every single person would like to vote. How does he know? Isn't this the very stuff that many Democrats have accused GOPers of doing in the past?

^^ good point, though I still think that the Democrat obstructors are in the minority, but it's still an equally shameful abuse of the process.

That's what I was thinking as well. They called one where only 2% of the polls had reported.

If the exit polls are half-assed accurate, the Dems are within 3 seats of the senate.

Who the fuck knows though.

As of 12AM EST, 9PM PST the dems have many gains but not everything they need yet. I know CNN, NYT and Fox News have called the House for the Dems. According to HuffPost, Howard Dean told voters, even if the Dems win, don't expect much because theres not a lot they can do to change things. Brilliant.

did you not see that coming?

what else can the Dems possibly do but obstruct more judges, raise taxes and cut funding to the war?

really, tell me what the Dems will do now or should do now. seriously.

Institute fiscal responsbility by either raising taxes or cutting spending. You really can't get any worse than the previous rubber stamp congress/administration*.

*excluding the one exception of stem celled research

That's only presuming they don't take the senate as well, but I've been watching the coverage on CNN and Fox for the past couple of hours, and I'm gonna go ahead and make the early call that the Dems are going to take it. There'll be a recount in Virginia, but Webb's ahead with 31,000 votes still to be counted in a strongly blue county. Missouri's tipped in favour of the Democrats, with most of the remaining votes coming from St. Louis and other urban areas that usually vote Democrat. Montana's still early days, but it's looking good for the Dems there as well.

So Renegade's projected senate: 50 Dem, 49 GOP, 1 Ind (Lieberman). Whatever happens from here, this has been great to watch.
