Everyone says ....

TRANCE IS CHEESY!

1. not intelligent, not quality muzik
2. obvious....drum rolls & build ups every 5 sec
3. repetitive
4. simple, basic

The trance haters are mostly prog house Nu Breed (Danny Howells, Digweed, Pappa, Steve Lawler) Lovers.

I'm constantly defending trance, Pvd, Tiesto etc.

i couldnt agree with mindbender and twilogoddess more.

almost everything has already been said...i jus have this to say about all trance lovers - "no one is more open minded than a trance fan".we dont complain about other music genres.

i have a friend who listens only to hard rock, so i made him listen to some trance tunes (delerium's silence, oh yeah!). he did get interested in cheesy tunes (hey, i like cheesy tunes too!). sometimes he burns cdrws to listen to in school and tells me "hey, i burned another cd with that trance/shit/crap on it" and i always hit him at that point and say "hard rock is crap, it's not even real music. don't call trance crap"

once a guy asked me what i was listening to and i said trance, and he was like "how can you listen to dance music???" . he was one of those weird punk rockers, so no wonder

i was in a local music store trying to find anything worthy when this old woman rushed in, went through different trance cd's like a hurricane and started throwing names at the clerk "george acosta, digweed, atb, ministry of sound, etc." that was pretty funny, but what killed me at the end was her phrase "yeah, you know, i'm interested in that techno stuff"

some people just have bad ear: they can't hear the beat, so from their birth on they listen to screaming with noise in the background (i'll try to find an example: if i'm not mistaken, limp bizkit?). that's why they say "isn't that repetitive?" fools

i hate those who are against trance because it's done by computer !
like if it was the computer doing the work...
i think it's harder to make a great trance track than a rock one !
Computers can calculate faster than humans
computer helps us for full of things...
so producer use computers to get the best of the sound , and the best of sound makes trance....
personally i really can't understand people who hate trance...
so beautiful , so great , you know when you hear the beat coming on airwaves and you get a smile and you can't catch the guys besides you don't get it and tells "so?!"
OK GO LISTEN TO THAT MC MASTER P YO ****** ...
when i used to argue against rap vs trance the guy has for conclusion look at this " ok maybe rap isnt so good music but we listen it for the style " or "hey does guy gets full of chicks , look their videos!" yeah for the style !
a trance lover can have a new track that makes his day , just souvenir de chine made me happy for a week !
i dont know if we can call us lucky but trance gives us so much hapiness and fun than all those style together !
i hope i'll be 80yr old ans still loving it !

"That's not even real music...it's created on a computer" A couple people I've talked to have told me that...

"It doesn't even have words...how can you listen to something w/out words."
The most popular has to be
"they all sound the same"
I hate people that say that

And everyone says...

1) That it's only good to listen to when you're at a dance or club.

Bullshit! Guess what? I'm 16, never been to a club, a rave, or trance convention in my entire life. I wish I could, though!

2) That's not real music.

These days, what is? Music is changing, and so are its instruments. Didn't people say the same thing about the electric guitar? Something that makes trance so unique is its complex drumlines and synths, and taht is truly original.

Yea that computer/not real music thing i get a lot. But the most stupid comment is "Has no emotion or no feeling..." this is usually a comment by tossers who need words to explain everything (and even then they don't get it.)

There's only one other person in my 6th form who's really into trance *specifically, as opposed to drum and bass or techno or whatever* it's kind of nice i admit.

Some one commented it's not like classical music, we won't listen to it in 100 years time... maybe not exactly as it is now but i think it'll be around.

Overall i only have one friend whos really into trance and he's 2 years older than me.

btw I like Digweed and all that proggie stuff, just once in a while. That is so true Trance ppl are open to other music.. i got something from near any genre that i like.

hehe...I was getting this way back in the mid-late 80s in the New Wave days. Depheche Mode, New Order, Flock of Seagulls, Pet Shop Boys to name a few, and yes...I got the same comments then....go figure...
I guess thats why I love trance so much.
I think a lot of it has to do with people's willingness to even understand what it is they're listening to.
They have no history of anything else to compare it to. You know a person's disposition by what comes out of their mouths most of the time; "Don't you get a headache listening to that stuff?", "When does this song stop?" and "It all sounds the same" are people (IMHO) that don't want to learn about it, so I ignore them because I'd probably be wasting my breath trying to defend something they really have no concept about.
I have such a huge leg up on these people as far as 'where this sample came from' or 'I remember the original song and this is a remix'. To them (and maybe to some of you) a lot of songs I recognize as being a re-released, remix or a huge sample. I can actually enjoy what the DJ/Producer is tabling to my ear because I understand and truely enjoy it!
I've loved 'Electronia' music even before that become a coined term and there's no sign that I'll ever give that up!
Being totally surrounded in an audio exlir of an uplifting trance song where my private world comes to life is my ultimate high!
To me there is no equal....
Peace...

Hello!

Well this thread was started a long time ago, the good part is its a damn good one, so glad to talk about it again...here is my list...
======================================================================
"Has the song ended yet?"
"So when does the next one start?"
"This mix is 78 minutes long? How can you listen to that for so long?"
"This has vulgar language*"
"So you listen to this TECK-NO crap?"
"Isn't it all the same?"
"What exctly did Tiësto do up there on stage when you saw him?"
"Whats the difference with TECH-NO and Trance?"
"Arn't raves just for drug addicts that have nothing better to do?"
"How can you listen to that stuff durring the day?"
"So do you have any Serena Paris?"
"All this music is, is BOOM BOOM BOOM"

*at school. 2nd day, there was one song plastikE and I were listing to full blast that said "they know what is what, but they dont know what is up, they just strut....what the fuck?" and the teacher on PL (Parking Lot) duty, said you can't listen to this stuff its to vulgar....so plastikE said non discreetly, "Sorry I'll remember to bring my Nelly Cd tomorrow." hehe well there you go enjoi the list.....
