It is a rather interesting way of describing the banana. Coming from a christian background, I completely see where he is coming from. That's stems from my assumption that a divine being exists. So, I'm going to come to his defense, even if he sounds a little like he's trying too hard.

So it would appear that your arguments indicate that one can never be so comfortable in their position, with the wherewithal that they have factual supportive documentation to substantiate their claims, such that they can freely denigrate the arguments of others should they lack said substance. Is that what you're arguing? How's Santa Clause doing? |
Agree to disagree. I believe there is evidence for both sides, depending on where you start. A belief in the supernatural, or not.
I don't believe in Santa Claus
| quote: | | Defensive? Are you joking? Man put down that crack pipe hehe. Also, i'm more or less sure it's been established where the banana came from, and also that many species feed off of it, and that its not present in the whole world. So saying that god fined tuned the banana specifically for us human is dumb regardless of it being expounded from a theistic point of view. And yes, what you wrote is a rant because there is no good reason to defend that clown for making such a stupid argument, what you're trying to do is push in your on views disguising them as some sort of "argument" in favour of spewing stupid ideas just because you believe in "god". |
I wasn't argueing the merits of christianity or a banana. I was argueing against close-mindedness. That was my entire point. I got tired of being called close-minded simply because I believe in absolutes, so I'm going to call it out. If I can be critisized by like 10 people in every thread, certainly you can take a little from me.
Nothing wrong with constructive criticism, as I take to heart what some have critisized me for, and don't ever take it personally, even if someone means it personally..

You see, thats where you got it wrong. You are not doing any constructive criticism. We are bashing that guy, because it's a ridiculous way of describing a banana, albeit apparently interesting for you (which i suspect its a charade anyways). If it were something where there was space to debate its origin, uses, etc.. then you would have a valid point. But i sincerely doubt that there's any wiggle room to describe the origins of a banana in any other way then what it is, unless you're a 3 year old, maybe. Taking this into account, your "constructive criticism" is uncalled for, and has no basis. You're (and you've just admitted it) basically just lashing it out because you believe people here have wronged you, and you're mad. So again, i stand by my point that you're "constructive criticism" is nothing more than a rant.
