yeah, wanna buy one? LOL

i totally agree that certain genres just NEED linear faders. however, many trance, house and progressive DJs prefer a rotary. I just wanted to try both (which is part of the reason i bought the 275) and find out for sure which one worked better for me.

i wonder if unplugging the crossfader will work on my pcv-175 too. i hate it that you can't turn it off.
i bought the rotart kit for my mixer too and i've never looked back since. i pretty much hate faders, i don't like the feel of them at all.

but yeah, maybe i'll try unplugging that crossfader.

if they used the same chassis on the 275 as they did on the 175, the easiest way to do it is to remove the bottom pannel, you done need to unscrew the feet, just the 8 screws around the perimeter. then its just like the plugs for the channel fader. its easier than the rotary conversion.

of course just make sure its unplugged and you have grounded yourself before going in there.

From my experience, disconnecting the Crossfader boosts the output of the mixer (Rane, Gemini)

I'm using an El-Cheapo Gemini Rotary and, find the Crossfader comes in handy when you need a sharp response where rotaries fail.

So the Rotary/Crossfader combo gives you the best of both worlds, if you spin other types of music than Deep House or Trance.

i like omni is talking about... my dream mixer would be one with linear channel faders, with a rotary option above or below each channel.

Use your gains

Having a rotary such as a Xone 92 or Pio 800, you can still use the crossfader for cuts.
