No doubt, keeping this in mind was a reason the thread wasn't closed initially but with a warning given instead. However, it's important to note that what's important to one person is not so important to another - besides - given that the thread title was about parties in Toronto and half the discussion was about Montreal/LA I hardly see it as being a bad thing to have another thread start (that is not about self-promotion) and helps people in Toronto plan their New Years festivities.
It's easy to look at things from one point of view - but - when something is missed and other promoters come to me and say 'Why can they do that and I can't?' then it's obvious why you have to be strict with certain things. |
