i spoke to other internationals. in terms of numbers there was a decent number. the problem was that it was so hot during the day that most people were at the river, their campsite or on the hydra stage. basically the only stage that was always packed was hydra, the others had moments like the main stage was fairly packed on saturday night during nick sentience and beyond but compared to other years i have been the main stage was empty. from this i gathered that hard psy and hard dance is still very popular in melbourne.
gms, eskimo and apparently 1200mics (although i am not certain about this one) cancelled. spiro came on stage just before joof and told the crowd and said they could not be bothered getting on a plane. then i found out later on sunday morning that gms had flown out but they were just late and they were told to just go home.
all in all it was a good fun, but i think spiro needs to work on set times abit more and not have major internationals clashing so much. its pretty hard to do but i think more thought should have been put in.
dont worry liz moshic is happy, he bought a surfboard on thursday and we are going surfing tomorrow for the week then he gets to travel up to queensland for more surfing after his room gig.
