Riesling is WAAAAAY too sweet for me, I'm more into Chardonays and Verdehlos. I still prefer red wine though. Cabernet Merlot is fucking awesome, as well as Shiraz. Luckily, we have lots of really good wines here at pretty good prices I would recommend most Australian wines to anyone.

I am the same way as many. I try a new bottle every week or so. Some of my favorites are:

Jacobs Creek - Cabernet Shiraz Mix

or

Clos Du Val - Pinot Noir

But I agree with Bas. Animals do = good (alot of the time). Little penguin, yellow tail, etc. I am a fan of many aussie reds.

Yeah, Jacobs Creek is pretty nice. I like their merlot quite a lot.

If you love your reds as much as I do, I would definately recommend that you all try:

From Margaret River (Western Australia) - some Cab Savs, Cab Merlots and Shiraz... Amberly and Mad Fish make some good + cheap wines, and then of course theres my absolute favourite - Clairault

From Barossa Valley (South Australia) - the same varieties (but particularly Shiraz... Krondorf Estate make one of the most fabulous Shirazs I've ever tasted... Also Penfolds are a great winery, and how could I forget Jacob's Creek)

From Mendoza (Argentina) - any Malbec... I never tasted a bad one (And I was drinking almost every night for a month), but San Felipe and Norton wineries made some particularly nice wines

Brown Brothers do make some nice whites, but I've never tried any of their reds, not yet anyway.

Actually, I don't think I have either

And I don't really drink red wine over the summer.

Next year maybe
