Hmm, if you can notice it in the headphones, you'll notice it 10x more in a club. You should really try to find the ground loop and eliminate it. How is your deck(s) hooked up to your PC? What decks, what mixer, etc are you using?

I think it's the mixer/usb interface connection causing the buzz noise. everything can be heard clearly on the headphones playing from vinyl.

could soundforge or other software remove the cracks/buzz/ and etc?

No NEVER play with EQs or do anything to modify the original sound. Just rip it the way it comes off the vinyl

oh yeah and after you record the track compare your high frequencies at the beginning of the track to the high frequencies at the end of the track. If you notice that the ending sounds worse than the beginning then clean your needle, adjust the balance, or get a new needle. Sometimes it's just a bad vinyl pressing, or dirty record. Just take any precautions before ripping.

the pops/ crackling will still be there? or is there a way to remove it? thanks

There's loads of software out there that'll take out the pops and crackles. Some of them to the detriment of sound quality, but I use Adoe Audition, and as long as you don't get too heavy handed with the settings, that can work really well.

And remember, every time you download a track through peer to peer etc, a fairy loses its wings...

Wait... or is that every time you lie, or kill a spider? I can never remember...

Either way, my friend Brian now has no wings...
