The US won't, but US corporations will. The contracts to "rebuild Iraq" - ie. it's oil production - are massive, and they're going to the Bush administration's staunchest supporters.
Also, you have to consider the US-Israel relationship. Israel is the only true US ally in the region, and plays a huge part in US policy. Having US-friendly (and thus anti-Palestinian) leadership in Iraq - perhaps the key state of the middle east - would be a godsend for them.
Of course, given the chance, Iraqis are going to vote *against* an explicitly US-friendly government. So the US vision of "democracy" in this case needs to be taken with a grain of salt.
