I think the key whenever liquid is spilt onto any electronic device is to switch the thing off immediately, and remove any battery/power source.

Once, while very drunk, I was texting someone while having a piss at a party. The phone went straight down the bog. I swiftly rescued the piss soaked item, removed the battery quicker than you could say 'I'm a total pecker' and left it in the airing cupboard overnight.

Nursing a hangover the next day, i connected the battery, fired the little beauty up and was happy to find that it worked as it did before it's trip down the shit chute.

Happy ending.

Can anyone help me? I have a cdj-200, it started giving me this e3801 error so i took it to a shop around here that is pioneer certified and so on. They fixed the optical cd reading part and gave it back to me for 150 dollars. Happy to get it back I load up some cds only to find that it works for about 2-3 songs then gives me the e3801 error again. I take it back to them, they tell me that it must be the cds im using, but the cds i use work fine on my other cdj, my computer, and my cd player in my car. They take it apart look through it and find "a cable is loose on the inside". They also told me before the loose cable that it worked fine for them. Now they repaired the loose cable for free and gave it back to me. 2-3 songs into using it again, BAM e8301. Im getting ready to take it back again this week. Any opinions, similar experiences? I am about to either email pioneer with my problems hoping they care, or call it scrap and look into other CDjs on the market. I have only had them for a year and 4 months, so barely miss the warranty =/.

any response is appreciated, and sorry for the long read.

Uh your best bet is to put that in a new thread, not in this thread.

Edit: It's probably defective but there has been other people who've experienced this problem before, on the CDJ 800s. Sometimes it happens with use, but since yours is probably new and is happening right away, yeah your best bet is to exchange it for one that works.

I have the CDJ 1000 MK2s, haven't had this problem or heard about it on them, only the lesser models seem to have this problem, dunno why...because they make more of them perhaps and with slightly cheaper parts. Not sure...

I'm happy to say that a suncream incident at the bottom of my rucksack was unrecoverable....

I opened one of my CDJ-800s, as the platter was getting "Stuck" - it just needed a clean - too much dust.

its not that hard to open, just keep track of the screws, and have a big clear table to work on, as the top of the unit, cant be removed from the bottom as it is connected by a large ribbon. but you can open it, and if its unplugged, and has been for a few hours, a (slightly) damp cloth might get rid of any beer.

wait for it to dry. Beer doesn't have anything it that is corrosive to eletronic parts. The only thing it will do is get sticky if you don't get all the liquid out, if it works now you'll be fine.
