well u can just scratch the stantons off the list so youre left with the pioneers vs. denon.

Both decks are good, but obviously one has scratching capabilities and the other doesnt.

The denons have built in basic effects and the spinning wheel is a cool eye candy but not really necessary since many ppl can scratch with the pioneer cdj-800s and 1000s no problem

The cdj-200s however feel a lot different if you are used to playing on the 800s and 1000s so itll take some practice. Im not talkin about the size of the jog wheel either, its just how you use it that's different.

I would go for the pioneers since ive bought the denons before but quickly switched to cdj-1000s

I'm curious as to why your not asking about the Numark Axis 9 or 8 as well .

I just wanted to know if they have a "beat loop" feature, similar to CDJ200s. I just can't find it.

Sort of - you can use the echo loop effect to create a loop of anything up to 8 beats and chop it down once it's looping by turning the paramenter knob to 4, 2, 1, 3/4, 1/2 and 1/4 beats (not quite as small as the Pioneer).

I bought a really used DN-S1000 and it wouldn't play any CDs. At the end I managed to update the firmware (after I burned the update 3 or 4 times) and now everything seems to be fine.

i do like the fact that denon releases updates for their cd players quit frequently...minus the 3500 where apparently they took forever and a day

Another thing: I'm not sure about the other players but DN-S1000 doesn't really like VBR MP3's (can't really cue or see time left).
