Does it?

People like the tracks they're likely to like the most. Too bad. It's good to step out of that once in a while.

Reason 1: After the recommendation you pay more attention to that song while listening to it, so yeah, you might discover something you haven´t before.

Reason 2: When someone says 'omg ch00n i die', you listen to that tune with some kind of positive bias and it may affect your opinion on the track. But it shouldn´t.

Exactly. What you're describing here No_gravity is called bandwagoning.

i find myself often getting dissapointed when checking out a "omfg choon" simply cause its not what im looking for.

ofcourse, any tune that gets the recommended sticked from me are awesome tunes indeed.. like: (example)

Wizzy Noise - R.I.P Saki

Symmetry C - Brainchild (Lange Remix)

Paris Hilton - Turn It Up (Paul Oakenfold Remix)

but then again, i doubt most u will like these.

Fixed. And yes, that tune is easily in my all-time top 100. Quite high up there too.

That's quite a bold assumption you made there.

i agree that you should judge music for yourself, but I have to admit that I've experienced what you're talking about. I'll have a listen to something, but maybe I just didn't give it a good enough look, then I hear someone on here talk about how they like it, and I'll give it another listen. Sometimes I end up liking it more.
