The bonus is that I'm living rent-free while I go to school...but it doesn't make much difference anyways.

+1

If living with your parents benefits everyone (kids being helped through school in turn, dishes get done ), then why not? There are cultures where families live together always. I think kids feel forced to move out too soon. If a child (college student) is struggling to start/finish an education, I feel, parents should always leave their doors open. But the mooches that aren't doing shit with their lives other than drinking all the milk in the house and stinking up the bathroom, should be gladly kicked out.

My brother lived with us till he was in his late 20's, just recently moved out and as Callaghan said, he's basically a changed man. Really gets you to respect the kick in the ass that life is - that is if you are up to it. In the long run though I think you should stay at home, save up money, make some smart decisions and go to school. After your education is done, move out and set your life out.

Anthony works in the grocery store
Savin' his pennies for someday
Mama Leone left a note on the door,
She said,
"Sonny, move out to the country."
Workin' too hard can give you
A heart attackackackackackack
You oughta know by now
Who needs a house out in Hackensack?
Is that all you get for your money?

And it seems such a waste of time
If that's what it's all about
Mama, If that's movin' up then I'm movin' out.
Mmm, I'm movin' out. Ooh-hoo, uh-huh, mmmm

assuming you can tolerate living at home, wait til you've finished school. paying rent is such a waste of money. smartest thing to do is stay at home whilst youre working full time, and save for your own place.
