You know Tree, what sucks is that Michigan is really truly our ONLY competition in the entire country. Its the only team we havent bulldozed. Wed tear Florida apart, and I dont even want to think about the blood bath that would ensue if we played Rutgers. |
Rutgers has alot better of a defense than anyone thinks. Except for that game against Cincinnati, the Scarlett Knights shut down every team they played against. Everyone but the Buckeyes seem to have a flaw this year, so why not a defense that shut down 2 of the best offenses in the nation to take on the Buckeye spread attack?
Edit - This stays with the condition that Rutgers wins by 17 or more tonight.
I definitely think Michigan is the 2nd best team in the country but I also feel like they had their chance to play for the title and lost. If they do get a rematch, Id hope we'd hold onto the ball a little better and win the way we shouldve the first time.
What about Louisville? I think Louisville could beat Florida and if you want a shootout for the national title, you could do way worse the Brohm vs Smith. Louisville has no defense to speak of so you could easily have a situation like last years title game, though I expect the Buckeyes could beat them by at least 2 scores.
Florida would be ok, but I think we win that game easily. Of course Miami was the major favorite in 2002 as well

I agree, they had their chance. The way I see it we'd still win but by more.
Can the BCS make up games as they go? It seems like everything is so wishy washy this year. They need to get their shit together. And the fucking style points too. You have got to know Florida isnt going to get any "style points" for the game tonight.
Im a fan of the old way of scoring - a W is a W, no matter how pretty it looked as you got to it. |
I'm a fan of looking and saying, which is the team most capable of winning a game against Ohio Stste in an unfriendly neutral location (Arizona is notorious for beng taken over by OSU fans). This is how I would rank it.
EDIT: (to reflect saturday's games)
1. Ohio State
2. Florida
3. Michigan
4. LSU
5. Louisville
6. Oklahoma
7. USC
8. Wisconsin
9. Arkansas
10. Boise St.

I definitely agree with that, if only because I love college ball SO MUCH and it would be awesome to have another two or three weeks of it. OSUs schedule is always too short for my enthusiasm. December is a buzzkill. |
I think they should get rid of preseason games, or maybe knock it down 1 or 2. This would allow you to lengthen the postseason schedule without adding too much to the football year. NOt that that matters considering the NCAA recently lengthed the standard season again.
